Created and managed by Windsor Salinas’s Activities Director, Daniella Galvan, a new volunteer initiative was implemented in 2016 called the Giving Back Club.
Once a month, residents create care packages that are distributed to our troops overseas. They help make the packages, write letters and send pictures to the soldiers. This program has brought them joy and sense of purpose. Families have also gotten involved and are donating items to the club.
Additionally, they also send packages monthly to a local women’s shelter. They make bags that include tooth brushes, body wash, deodorant, tooth past, shampoo and conditioner. They switch off donating to the women in the shelter and the children in the shelters as well.
